Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan is a famous American musician and singer. She is also referred to by her popular nickname, the Queen of Funk. She has won ten Grammys over her entire career spanning more than 50 years. Also, she has been named as the 65th highest-performing dancer of all time by Billboard magazine. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at a young age by her grandmother. The beginning years of her career she played with several band. In the later years, she was part of a group known as Rufus. At the age of twenty the singer released her first album together in the band. The following year, they were awarded their first Grammy. She released her self-titled debut album just a couple of years following her solo debut. In the following years, she released other albums including "Echoes from an Era", "The Woman I Am" and one track called "Funk This". Also, she is known for her work with charities. Chaka Khan Foundation was established to help children from poor families as well as those who have autism. Khan also works as actress on occasion. She played in the role of Sister Carrie as well as the lead actress in "Mama I'm adamant to Sing." Chaka Chaka Chaka
